Ascension

Did you copy/paste wrong URL bro?

No support for performers without images at the moment. The plugin is a comparator of stats at its core to meaningfully rate your performer db, not sure what else you are looking for as far as a ā€œbattleā€ aspect. Video previews/thumb integration is a ways off, if youre going to use the plugin youre better off giving your performers images.

There is no max performer ranking or pool. but it does only consider performers with an image as valid competitors.

I will be starting work on the next update this week. Itll mostly be focusing on metrics and giving the user more under the hood visibility to better understand how the system works. Maybe ill also get off my ass and finish the white paper while im at it. Following the metrics update will likely be a new mode Ive been drafting that will be beta’d

For anyone who needs some toilet reading. You can find more about what is happening mechanically in the backend of the plugin in the Ascension White Paper.

Sometimes it can be a bit hard to judge performers based on one image

I’d like to see some scenes they are in, maybe more images from the performer? Scene previews perhaps?

Not sure if others have this issue, but when playing in Placement mode the final score is not saved correctly to the performer’s page. the saved score is always higher than the final score displayed in the UI

Hey man thanks for catching this. should be fixed in the upcoming beta.

I recently created a plugin to auto rate performers based on scenes, could probably be a good starting point for battles. Maybe implement as a ā€œPrime inital seedsā€, could also include other factors into the confidence, like o-count

I have just released a beta version for 1.1 you can see some screens for it below. Users should only have to update their plugin for the beta to download. Make sure you disable the prod version if you are going to use the beta.

Full change log and notes are in the git repo here:

Hope you guys enjoy, let me know if you run into any bugs.

Just a heads up the scope for 1.1 is pretty large and im working on multiple performance fixes that have made the UI response buttery smooth on mobile.

I am also aware of the seeded performers challengers randomly pulling low weight performers and have identified the issue. Should hear more about it next week.

I am new to the community and this is one of the first plugins I saw… this is awesome! I am terrible at figure out who I like to watch, thank you for giving me a game to do it!

Is there pre-loading? Can that be made, currently there seem to be a slight delay when going next battle. Can pre-load be add so the next one is loaded?

This issue should be addressed in 1.1.1 dropping (hopefully) this week along with a ton of other performance fixes.

Like I said, this update will make the mobile and overall experience buttery smooth.

1.1.1B has been released addressing this issue as well as a numerous amount of other performance issues on the back-end.

Let me know if the time between matches continues to be an issue but it should be resolved for the most part.

Dont forget to snapshot your database if you are going to use the beta.

Decided to give the beta (1.1.1B) a shot and looks like I am getting this error

Uncaught ReferenceError: ensureElementVisible is not defined

ensureElementVisible(comparisonArea, 80);

Looks like something fatal slipped through. Giving it a look.

1.1.1B2 released correcting fatal error.

Look like blazing fast now, I’m getting hit with this error though;

`Error: weightedRandomSelectOptimized is not defined`

Based on log, I’m not sure;

[Ascension] Invalid rating for 35, falling back to existing data.

And here is #35

Also how to fixof number? Seem like some of mine are of 122 and some are of 447. I’m guessing it due to the Beta changes or when I mass update quite a few performer image.

Nice catch on the weightedRandomSelectOptimized . Thats my bad, and its corrected now in 1.1.1B4. That was the plugin trying to call the cross tier event but I misnamed the function and it crashed. Easy to miss since I only have a 10% chance of hitting it when testing.

If you have duplicate battle badge\ranks, that is likely because those performers have tied stats or similar metrics. Or it could very well be your floor. In 1.1 ties are reflected as actual ties on the battle rank badge\leaderboard rather than incrementing with +1 giving performers higher or lower ranks when it shouldn’t.

So that is why you see duplicate ranks. When they get more matches, they will splinter from that tie.

Beta should be pretty stable now though, honestly what @obatzdamelt caught was an issue that pretty much ran away from me and caused a chain reaction. I believe I have caught and corrected all of that while maintaining the optimizations I have outlined in the release notes but I may have missed a few stragglers.

Thats what betas are for. Let me know if yall find anything. Snapshot if you havent!
