For context, please see the discussion in the comments of StashDB
I have a scene which has an official cover image and also an official title in the scene list of the studio.
The official title has a typo, but the image does not have the typo.
I know that the guidelines say to keep the title as-is, but in this case, should I use the title from the image or from the scene list?

We want you to scrape the original title from the official website and submit that.
The reason we have the rule is along side with hash based lookup of scenes we also support title search based lookup of scenes. It probably doesn’t matter that much any more now all scenes have a valid hash but it was something that was really important when we started the database to have the titles with errors in them.

Yep, and since a lot of external sources also use titles scraped directly from the studio’s website, preserving the typo in the title can be useful for finding the scene elsewhere as well. It can be particularly helpful if the scene is older, no longer available, the website’s gone, etc.
Eventually, I’d like to be able to save alternate titles to StashDB so we can correct those typos while still saving the studio’s original spelling/formatting. But that’s more of a dev question, so I don’t know when or if we’ll get there.
