Thoughts on use of BadFamilyPOV as Parent for BadDaddyPOV/BadMommyPOV/DaughterJOI/MommyJOI/etc. perhaps?

What are everyone’s thoughts one moving the BadDaddyPOV/BadMommyPOV/DaughterJOI/MommyJOI/etc. studios to being under BadFamilyPOV as the Parent Studio, instead of directly under Full Porn Network?
(sub studios of a sub studio)

Seems that they’ve reorganized their site, and have also added new sub-studios BadBrotherPOV/BadSisterPOV/SisterJOI

As seen here: Bad Family POV Site’s “Channels” page

The issue I’m seeing is many scenes are being set up under Bad Family POV, because of the URL, but should be classified under one of the sub-channels (i.e. Daughter JOI)

The videos still have the sub-channel logo/watermark in the corner.
i.e. StashDB ID: d85a7867-4a80-4683-b591-7a9d23e4e8c8

This should be a Mommy JOI scene, should it not?

So, thinking something like this:

                          Full Porn Network
                                 |
                            BadFamilyPOV
                                 |
     |-------------|-------------|-----------|--------|
BadDaddyPOV BadMommyPOV DaughterJOI MommyJOI etc.

I’m inclined to agree with you, but I’m not particularly familiar with this network so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I did a little bit of digging and found a few unusual characteristics here that need to be taken into consideration:

  1. Metadata appears to be duplicated across both the fullpornnetwork.com and badfamilypov.com domains
  2. All of the mommyjoi.com scene links appear to be broken, and the website itself is empty, but I don’t know if that’s a temporary thing if the reorganization is recent
  3. I believe you said earlier the video files are identical regardless of studio source, correct me if I’m wrong
  4. According to TPDB we’ve got some shifting release dates here, but I think I’ve encountered that with different FPN studios before
  5. Currently (just updated mine a minute ago), the community scrapers only return the studio that matches the domain name, but it sounds like this can be fixed since the page source includes the sub-studio

Points #1 and #3 lead me to believe this is not a re-release/redistribution situation between brands. I expect the mommyjoi.com domain will be re-populated eventually and the changing release dates seem to be applied to individual scenes across all domains to make them seem newer instead of a true re-release under a different studio/network with a new date.

Of course, Stash-Box is still limited to one level of hierarchy for studios, meaning it won’t allow Bad Family POV to be both a sub-studio of Full Porn Network and the parent of Mommy JOI etc. That limitation is well-known though and we’ve split out sub-networks before. You’ll just have to remove FPN as the parent first, wait for the edit to be approved, and then re-assign BFPOV as the new parent to those sub-studios.

This whole situation also brings up a couple questions we’ve never really answered consistently for StashDB:

  1. Do we create a new Bad Family POV (Network) studio to act as the parent of Bad Family POV and everything else, like Naughty America (Network)? We did that very early on but I can’t even remember why we thought it would help at the time.
  2. Since we can’t give a single sub-studio multiple parents either, how do we decide when to keep sub-studios under the larger network (FPN) and when to split them off into a smaller “bundle” (BFPOV)? Typically we group studios together if they’re available under the same subscription, but technically these scenes and sub-studios are available under both subscriptions. And who knows how long these new bundles will last. The parent company could stop offering the subscription tomorrow and we would have to move them all back. This same question applies to recently created “bundles” that combine existing sub-studios available from the TeamSkeet and MYLF networks, so this situation’s become more common lately.

With all that said, I would hold off at least until the scrapers can identify the correct sub-studio. It sounds like a quick fix, so no reason to start moving scenes and studios around until we can rely on everything to stay in the right place.
