Stash files location

Ok so I have 2 servers, one is the main one that has the stash app on it and the other is an extension of the database. I already have about 2 TB of files on the extension server that I want to move to the main server. The extension server files have already been scanned and added and set as organized. I have already experimented with one performer/videos, and deleted them off the extension server after adding them to the main server and scanned that folder, when I click the file location it shows 2 files (the old location extension server which is primary) and the new location which actually has the file itself. How without going to each vid and changing the new file to “primary” and removing the old location that doesn’t exist anymore. Will it remove the old file location if it doesn’t exist anymore if I rescan the old server? Since it doesn’t see it it should remove it. I hope I explained that good enough.

Ok awesome!!! Does that just delete the path? Not the file itself correct, or should I add the new files to the new location before deleting the old location

Removing library location won’t remove the files (unless you run Clean task). And the paths will only be updated ocne you run the Scan task again.

Make a database backup just in case you want to revert.

Ok cool thanks!!! :fire::fire:

So I’m a bit confused on at what point do I do a clean scan. And what directory do I scan? I’m guessing the old directory right? But that doesn’t exist anymore so how do I select it to scan it? Or should I have done a clean scan before I removed that directory and server? All files from that directory are on the new server, I copied and pasted them into the folder using windows smb share from one server to another, shut the extension server down, deleted the directory and rescanned the main directory and the new files won’t add. It still shows the old location where they were and obviously they wont play. I hope I’m explaining this right and not rambling on.
