Yeah, I know that.
When I first joined StashDB I used translated title, but when I scraped JAV data from StashDB, a lot of JAVs’ title was product ID.
That’s why I’m so confused right now.
I wonder I can use translated version of title for JAVs.
I believe the general rule of thumb is to use the studio code as title. It’s what I did when I submitted my JAV content and it got accepted without issue. The problem with using Japanese title is well… it’s Japanese. JAV-Stash is better suited for that if that’s what you want. When you translate it then we have no standard on the translation so it can also be wrong. Titles for Jav can also essentially be small essays and I believe that there is a 255 char limit for submissions anyway so it’s better overall just to use studio code imo.
Well…I thought if I upload machine translated title, someone who knows Japanese well will fix it later.
Anyway, I agree with your concern.
Japanese title is too long and product ID on the title might be easier to use in my local Stash app.
But I think JAV’s title should be entered when it’s possible but not must be in title field.
Somewhere else like description or something.
That is a link to one that I did a long time ago. I put the translated title and description in the description box. My mentality was that people generally search JAV by studio code anyway so it will make it easier for the users but then they still have all the data if they want it.
