Proposal for new tags - Tattooed Man, Tattooed Trans, Tattooed Woman

Right now, the tags Tattoos are No Tattoos are ambiguous because they do not specify which performer(s) have or don’t have tattoos in a scene with multiple performers. There also seems to be some confusion about whether No Tattoos means “scene contains at least one performer with no tattoos” or “scene does not contain any tattooed performers”.

I think a structure similar to Race would be helpful, where you have tags like:

  • Asian - Performers with broadly east Asian racial backgrounds, particularly Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.
  • Asian Man - Male performers with broadly east Asian racial backgrounds, particularly Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.
  • Asian Trans - Trans performers with broadly east Asian racial backgrounds, particularly Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.
  • Asian Woman - Female performers with broadly east Asian racial backgrounds, particularly Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc.

If these new tags were created, we’d have:

  • Tattoos - Performers who have at least one visible tattoo.
    • Remove aliases: Tattoo Girl, Tattooed Female, Tattooed Male, Tattooed Man, Tattooed Women
  • Tattooed Man - Male performers who have at least one visible tattoo.
    • Alias: Tattooed Male
  • Tattooed Trans - Trans performers who have at least one visible tattoo.
  • Tattooed Woman - Female performers who have at least one visible tattoo.
    • Alias: Tattooed Female, Tattooed Girl

Agreed that creating those new tags would be good.

From the current definition, “Describes performers who do not have any visible tattoos”, my interpretation is the former of the two.

I think that tag definitions are more clear when they directly apply to scenes, as scenes are what’s getting tagged on StashDB, not performers. So, for No Tattoos, I think it would be good to change the definition to the text you gave, or at least something similar. For the proposed new tags, I think their definitions should be phrased as “Scene contains a $gender performer with at least one visible tattoo.”
