Private Society (aka PS) metadata is paywalled and embedded in an image-based website design. Metadata is unavailable on the public landing page exluding the last four release dates.

Metadata conventions

Archival conventions for PS titles and descriptions remain uncertain due to stylized text embedded within images and existing submission conventions. Further discussion is required to define proper archival standards.

Titles

  • Use title case. Until official archival conventions are determined use title case for consistency.
  • Don’t prefix the title with a performer name. Official titles do not prefix performer names, e.g. Jane - {Title}. PS performer prefixes are a torrent release convention only.
  • Don’t use titles from third party retailers. Third party retailers do not necessarily use official PS scene titles.

Cover image

  • Use leading image from scene’s direct page. This image typically contains the string Screencap in the basename.
  • Do not substitute the cover image with landing page thumbnail
  • Do not use unofficial cover images from third-party retailers

Scene description

  • Available on the direct scene page and embedded within an image
  • Current convention does not include the location subtitle, but it is uncertain if this is proper archival procedure

Performers

  • PS does not consistently cite performer names in their metadata
  • Female performer names are listed within the Search Girls dropdown select form behind the paywall
  • Third party retailers are a reliable way to find performer credits, but be mindful their scene titles do not necessarily correspond to official PS titles

Date

  • The public landing page temporarily shows release dates for the last four scenes.
  • Members can view partial release dates on the landing page in MMM DD format, with the release year available on the scene’s URL as MM/YYYY.
