Organize file structure without breaking seeding?

Is there a way for me to (hopefully automatically) organize my physical files without breaking my seeding to my torrent trackers? Ideally I’d like to organize and rename the files by their metadata while still retaining the ability to seed the files. The only thing I could think of would be some form of hardlink where I’d have 2 different directories, 1 for my downloads and 1 for my organized files but I feel like that would end up being pointless since I’m just using stash anyway when it comes to viewing

You are absolutely right. You can jump through technical hoops to accomplish your goals. Have you thought of just getting subs and not seeding. You still do technical work but you are much more efficient and you can mass download and mass tag.

You have the brainpower to understand the difference between logical and physical, you understand links.

Smart people like you tend to make more money with their skills. It makes economic sense for you to pursue more efficient alternatives.

For reference. I do not rename my files. I consider that a flaw in the process. I name them correctly on download. It’s all part of the autotmation. If you RE-name then that means you did it wrong the first time.

In the past I’ve created a symlink from the file in my Stash media location to Transmission’s download folder. This way I can rename the file how I want it and also locate it where I want it, while still being able to seed.

Or hard link if it’s on the same filesystem.
