Is there a way to set a minimum duration for scenes when scanning?

currently we can set certain file types to be scanned and can disable scanning images. Is there a way to not scan videos shorter than for example 1 minute?

The filtering criteria could be based on video duration (e.g., filtering out videos less than 30 seconds). ### Describe the benefits this would bring to existing users Implementing this feature would enhance the user experience by reducing clutter in the video library, allowing users to focus on full-length movies without the distraction of short, irrelevant clips. This would save time during scanning and improve the overall quality of the video collection. ### Is there an existing way to achieve this goal? Currently, there is no effective way to filter out these short clips, as they can vary significantly in naming. Filtering by name is not viable due to the inconsistency in naming conventions among different sharing groups. ### Additional context Many shared video torrents online may include 5-10 various 30-second clips alongside each actual video/movie, which often contain non-essential content. More consistent filtering based on duration would significantly streamline the scanning process.

This approach isn’t something I’d be considering. The scan process should be ingesting video files regardless of duration. The intended solution is to provide better control over the creation of scenes from video files.

this references some sort of solution to the issue having been planned in 2025. is there any info on what this solution is and the progress?

Not that I’m aware of anything specifically, but there was done refactoring to better facilitate it.

I work around this by registering short clips as Images instead of Scenes. Works well.

If im reading it correctly this assumes that either

the shorter videos all have a given file extension that is different to the regular videos?

or

that the shorter videos are in specifc folders that do not contain videos that should be scenes?

is that correct?
