I’m mostly interested in collecting vintage full movies, so I’m looking for a solution to categorize my archive, but I don’t see a section for Movies in Stash UI, just Scenes.
Also, do scrapers recognize vintage stuff, and full movies in particular?

In general, Stash is definitely more geared towards more recent online scene by scene content, not DVD rips. I think movies are now called groups, which is essentially just a mechanism to group multiple scenes and IIRC galleries together.
Single movie files that contain multiple scenes are a problem, you either have to treat them as a single scene (problematic for automatic metadata sources, phash, etc), or split them manually into multiple files.
In terms of Metadata, the Stashboxes like StashDB or ThePornDB can be very hit or miss, I think they require it to be available online somewhere when it’s created. The actors have pretty good chance of being present, at least on ThePornDB. You are problaly looking at mostly manual metadata entry and tagging, etc.
For my old stuff, I had decent luck with IAFD as a manual data source for at least performer names, release dates, directors, etc, but I’m mostly dealing with 2000s era old stuff, not 80s or something like that, so I can’t speak to that. But maybe there is a more specialized site focused on older stuff.

I’m 80% into old, pre-ninetees stuff, like full movies that were taken on film and reissued in HD, and I didn’t have any luck with scrapers on those.
I also have some scenes alone here and there, so I need a solution to have both in one archive.

i have many old 90s full length movies here as well (gay) and it’s hard to get the metadata for it. I find gayadultdvd is the best scraper i can find but it’s not as clean as stashdb.
Using Groups as a means to collect scenes from Movies is a new concept for me, can someone elaborate? Is the stashDB data also pulling that in when I scrape? I don’t see Groups being created when I do.
I use Groups differently right now, but i can align to this.
Stash App is still ok for this use case, but StashDB isn’t.
For gay content in general the whole thing is a much more manual process, but I rely heavily on the GEVI scraper and corresponding website (GayEroticVideoIndex.com) for nearly all of my content. I wish it were a Stashbox.
I have that scraper locally modified so I can just plunk a movie link (as opposed to a scene link 
) into the scene URL field and have it scrape all the content for that full movie into the scene.
out of hundreds of scenes with the three major StashBoxes I often get maybe 10-20 matches and have to do the rest by hand, which does mean that my instance is very slapdash. Only 23% of my scenes have StashIDs, but way more of them are actually named with performers at least.
I have 10.000+ movies added to my database (loooong time hoarder) - everything from the newest stuff to old 70s reels. Like others have said, “Groups” is Stash’s equivalent to Movies/DVD’s. It’s even easy-ish to rename it to movies or DVDs if you want to with some localization edits in the settings.
The scrapers are not really reliable for movies, but you can use the URL from IAFD of Themoviedatabase or AdultDVD/GayDVDempire or many other websites and scrape through those directly from the URL field of the file. You won’t find all movies, but a good amount. The issues are sometimes finding covers but Google is often your friend. I have maybe less than 5 movies without covers in my database. I highly recommend using Stash - it really is amazing.
