I thought I’d start a discussion seeing as there is none and I think it would be useful to have one. This is specifically for Insex (1997-2005) and not to be confused with Insex on Demand.
Information about the studio is difficult to obtain, with the only “active” source being https://www.insexarchives.com/updates.php - they purchased all of the original Insex content, and rotate the scenes, this means obtaining information about a specific scene difficult considering they rarely update their blog anymore. Finding specific dates is difficult to say the least.
One problem is raw feeds and the edited counterpart and how they should be handled. eb9ff382-2c28-49fc-9e69-9a35a23bb7ae is the raw footage of the live feed and c9783e7e-1007-4a2d-9c9a-3726b1c1e943 is the edited version. However, nobody has the raw footage.
It is possible that the raw footage is non-existent, or that the video and raw footage is the same, but in this case, would it be appropriate to keep both?

I have obtained a siterip of Insex from 2005 and have dates, images etc. I am slowly working my way through the different bits and updating what’s needed.
The best way to date scenes is based on when they were released and not recorded, as some scenes come from live feeds (i.e. recorded live and edited after), but the scenes would not be released until months (sometimes years) after the fact. We should use the date of release for archive purposes.
Your approach looks like the correct way to do it. I went through the updates you’ve submitted so far and they looked good to me; you fixed a couple errors I submitted myself. This studio is a mess and fixing it is a large undertaking. Good luck to you.

There’s definitely a lot that’s missing or incorrect, and trying to find why is hard, especially with no archive - only user-submitted ones. Hopefully one day we can get there!

These are listed as separate entries on the Insex website, but the video was released as one single .rm file, meaning that (as far as I can tell) there was never two separate video files. I’m unsure whether to submit a new addition for the video file, or to just use an existing one?

I do have a question for you though, do you remember where you found this video: StashDB - I can’t find a raw version of the live stream listed as being released on the Insex website, only the original.

Regarding The Toy, I think the DB entry for Part One is intended to be both part one and two based on the fingerprints. I don’t recall how it was originally released. I also have it as a single file.
Regarding 822 LiveFeed RAW, I reviewed it again now and I think I’ve mislabeled it. I wish stash kept a rename history to see what the original filename was before I organized it because I cannot recall how I came to the conclusion I did. This is partly why I gave up trying to organize this studio.

yeah I agree re-The Toy, but I do wonder how others have got (seemingly) the files split up, maybe they manually split them.
For the 822 rawfeed video, I found a 1h video that’s been upscaled to 720p (or possibly it’s a rerelease), but the non-raw scene, I have a 31 minute edited video as well as all 7 individual parts, that all come together to form a 36 minute video, so I got no idea which is which.
For the most part, everything seems relatively organised though now and in a better spot
