Import tags from StashDB? How to set the right tags with the right StashDB ID?

When tagging a scene I wonder how to correctly link tags to tags on StashDB.

There seemed to be plugins to import all tags, which seems suuuper important for me for contributors, but they are currently all not to be found in my list of available plugins and out of date?
E.g. StashDB Tag Import - #5 by slinky

So in order to set tags I have to

  1. Search for appropriate tags on StashDB
  2. Manually add the tag in my StashApp with it’s StashDB ID
  3. Add the tag to a scene
  4. Submit the scene from the App to the DB

Am I mistaken?

Are tags linked automatically just by their name?

iirc when submitting to stashdb, unlinked tags will try to match stash tags based on alias or name, and resulting tags will be “unlinked”

there’s other projects to sync existing stashdb tags to your database (with or without) importing new ones

Nice, so tags are matched by name.

Unfortunately I did not find any active plugins to sync all tags in the plugin list within Stash. However inspired by your hint I now installed Tag Manager , which does a lot of heavy lifting and is easy enough to add as a new plugin repository.
I hope in the future external repositories are more integrated without the need to search for them outside stash first.
