Deleting duplicate galleries

Is there a way to detect and remove duplicate galleries? I moved (after a laptop crash) stash folders to a mini PC acting as a sort of NAS but kept hard drive letters and folder names identical. After re-running a full scan with “Create galleries from folders containing image” in Library options turned on, I,ve got 1,000’s of duplicate image folders that appear to have the same folder path. Doing a mass delete risks deleting the original files. Otherwise I need to delete gallery folders one by one!

You can run clean or selective clean task. Settings > Tasks > Clean.
I would recommend runing it twice. Firs ttime by enabling Only perform a dry run. Don’t remove anything and checking the Settings > Logs to see what it’s doing and if you are satisfied with the result then running it without the option.

Clean task doesn’t touch actual files on the filesytem.

Thanks,much appreciated

So I cleaned/ran full scan again/ran identify/ran auto tag (option create galleries from folders checked)

I have each performer in their own folder labelled with the performer’s name, all image folders for that folder within the performer’s individual folder

Before my crash and re-install all galleries identified the performer name

Now I have lots of folders where all the performers images are in one massive database/not divided into their named galleries and lots of image folders where the performer isn’t identified at all

[For example I have 8,000 or so Natalia Forrest images which are Stash sees only as a set of 8,000 images whereas before they were in 200 or so named galleries following the folder name and identified Natalia Forrest as the performer. On the other hand I have lots of folders which Stash sees and follows the folder name eg “Zara du Rose in black” but doesn’t identify the performer as Zara du Rose]

If it helps anyone it seems to me that

(i) in Library make sure “create galleries from folders containing images” is clicked on (it was always on for me)

(ii) run a full auto-tag session even if it might take hours. The auto-tag appears to group galleries and name them after their folder name and also identifies the performer
