Confused on how performer tags work and ignore auto tag on performer profile

Hello I had tagged some performers with some tags that i like to remember they do those specific things. But didnt bother checking what that changed in my scenes. Couple weeks later i noticed some scenes from these tagged performers, that were untagged, got tagged with these tags i had manually added in their “profile”

Example: performer A had 5 scenes with zero tags, then i tagged her performer profile with tag ABC. Later some new files were added of this performer A, no scraping, but all of them got automatically tagged with tag ABC.

Apparently stash is tagging all new scenes of any performers with all tags you apply to their profile. Is this the intended behavior? If so, whats the thinking behind this? im not really understanding.

Also how does the “ignore auto tag” checkbox works on the performer profile? It will ignore tagging ANYTHING for that performer or only the tags that are in the performer profile?

because i really want to add some tags to some performers, but i dont want these tags to get added to all of their scenes, since not all their scenes will have those tags and it will just mess everything up

have you installed any plugins like ‘Tag Scenes From Performer Tags’ ?

Core stash does not change scene tags based on performer tags. As mentioned above, it sounds likely that this is behavior from a plug-in.

The Ignore Auto Tag flag is used only to prevent performers being added to scenes/images/galleries during the Auto Tag task only.

Adds configured Tags, Performers and/or Studio to all newly scanned Scenes, Images and Galleries.

I really dont know why i installed it tough, i was under the impression these came by default. I probably added them the first time i tried stash and completely forgot they existed.

Thanks for the clarification on ignore auto tag for performers, was thinking they did something else. Will have to remove them from those i’ve added.
