This thread doesn’t belong in the off-topic category imo, but I can’t see a category that fits. It’s more of a general discussion topic, but within the scope of stash. I suspect we need a new category. Any ideas?
We could split off General Questions into a separate category, similar to how Discord has Stash [NSFW] one. And then tags could be used for specific objects.
Alternatively, we could create Community category, where similar general sub-category could live and maybe then could be expanded over time to include things like community wiki and other non-developer focused sub-categories.
Yep, I think that’s a good idea. General Questions functions as a support Q+A about how to use stash. I’m thinking a top-level General Discussion category might include aspects on stash use, among other general discussion about stash/stash-box and the community. It doesn’t really belong in Support category.
I’d then move the referenced thread into that category.

I would like to move all future reports (finances and hours worked) to here from Github and Discord. What would be the appropriate category for those?
I would’ve said development but maybe something under announcements? since it’s not meant to be commented on by everyone

It didn’t seem to fit but also the off topic description led itself to being the place for stash(ish) discussion.
Announcements > Financial Reports how does this look?
