What is the relevance of this filter? Most of the times when I choose this filter, I get empty results. How does a scene become “Trending”?
Looking at the code for this part of stash-box we can see that trending scenes are those that have been created in the last 7 days, sorted by the number of fingerprints that have been submitted for them
Always seems to yield empty results on stash db though?!
If I go to https://stashdb.org/scenes?sort=trending, I see 164,178 results. Is there a specific case where you are seeing 0 results?
The sort option really only works on the main scenes page: if you try it on for example a tag or a studio you could run into the case where no new scenes have been created for that tag or studio in the last 7 days. Try it with one of the tags that appears on lots of scenes like Blowjob and it will show plenty of scenes, but for a tag like Anal Sex you’ll only get 3 scenes (as of this post)
Yeah it looks like that. Sometimes though it says x results but there are no entries on the page. For example this studio page. Also looks like the asc/desc switch does nothing with this.
Also wondering if this is a sort option or a filter really???
Both, It filters for matching the “trending” threshold and then sorts them based on the number of fingerprints above the threshold
