How to Handle Scene Re-Release with Altered Video and Different Performer Credit

I’m looking for guidance on how to handle this Playboy+ scene in StashDB: StashDB

Originally, the scene was briefly available as a pre-release and on release day under the title “Alix Berkly in Send Me Roses.” The performer has previously used the name Alix Berkly across platforms like OnlyFans, Fansly, and Kick.

Shortly release, on release day itself, the studio removed that version and re-released the scene under a new title: “Ally Lanes in Send Me Roses.” The performer’s credited name was changed to Ally Lanes in the title card, and the associated studio URL also changed. The original URL was taken down.

From what I can tell, the only difference in the video files themselves is in the title cards showing the performer’s name. (See images below for reference.)

I submitted the now-removed Alix Berkly version to StashDB.

So what’s the best course of action here?

Should this be treated as two separate scenes?

Or should it be considered one scene with corrected metadata (title, performer name, and URLs)?

This sounds like a fairly cut and dry re-release according to the guidelines. Which would imply two scenes with nearly identical metadata.

The problem that might come up (and I suspect is why this has been posted) is that the PHashes are definitely very close (if not identical) which means scraper and identify matching on these scenes is going to be a mess. I would make sure the MD5 hashes and (if possible) the OSHashes are submitted since those may become the only thing which allows them to be differentiated. Given the scene has existed for a week I suspect one of the two PHashes that are already on the scene is incorrect and would need to be flagged for removal.

For what it’s worth, this is one of those situations where I personally wouldn’t go through the effort to separate the metadata locally. I just wouldn’t send the bad fingerprints up.
